Performed original songs on hundreds of stages over the years, from Nashville’s Bluebird Café to the now-defunct Union Grove Fiddler's Convention in North Carolina. Appeared by invitation at the World Folk Showcase in Washington DC, and represented Arizona’s songwriting tradition as a guest of both the State of Arizona and the Folklore Society of Greater Washington at the FSGW’s annual Getaway at Camp Letts, Maryland.
Opened for some name acts. Boy, were they GOOD. Some were even nice to me!
Spent many years as a Roster Artist for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, one of the finest juried arts commissions in the country. Eventually they determined that what I do is not so much "art" as "caterwauling" so I left the artist roster to explore caterwauling opportunities elsewhere.
An occasional newsletter still goes out to those "Pipkin's Irregulars" who have signed up on this site, and I host song circles when the spirit moves me.
